It's no secret that we wish we could live in the early 2000s forever. Gas prices were low, our future seemed so bright, and we could play Runescape for hours on end with virtually no consequences. We would spend countless nights scrolling through Ebaumsworld, laughing at all of the ridiculous videos they uploaded, like Badgers or Kenya. The internet was a kinder place back then. All we cared about was being stupid and making each other laugh. Now, the internet has devolved into a Karen-exposing system, or a place for people to vent all their frustrations into the void.

That's why we continue to post animal memes here at Animal Comedy, to remind you that there is still a silly side to the internet. We remember the good times, and we're actively working to bring them back. Who needs influencers spouting products to you when you can scroll through capybaras being chill with everyone? Or punny memes that are filled with so many dad jokes, you can't help but laugh at them (yes, we're sorry to inform you that we're at the age now where we're the ones making the dad jokes). 

If you're reading this as a millennial, welcome home. If you're a Gen Z'er who has no idea what we were talking about in the beginning of this article, you're welcome for the free education. And we're sorry you missed the golden age of the internet.

  • We have such fond memories of playing on our Nintendo 64 with our friends in middle and high school. We thought the graphics on that thing were top-notch and everything looked so life-like.
